Gun charges against 14-year-old may be a harbinger of what’s to come, experts say

https://www.bostonherald.com/2021/03...e-experts-say/

"A 14-year-old Roxbury boy was arrested this week on gun charges — a potential harbinger, experts said, of a tense summer to come.
The boy was seen shooting a gun in the area of Tremont and Lenox streets in Roxbury on Wednesday before getting into the passenger seat of a black sedan, Boston Police said.
Just before 9 p.m., officers saw the car and stopped it on Annunciation Road, where the boy got out and ran into a building but was stopped and arrested after police found a .32-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver on a window ledge, police said.
During the booking process, they said, officers found a plastic bag containing crack cocaine. They also obtained a search warrant for a building, where they found 101 rounds of ammunition, police said."

"As of Thursday, police received 185 calls reporting shots fired, compared to 157 over the same period in 2020. And so far this year, officers have made 108 firearm arrests, compared to 85 by this time last year."

Wasn't last summer also pretty rough? I would think this summer would be worse.

I can't see why this summer WONT be worse.

Evictions start 3/31 iirc.
Unemployment benefits expire soon
Gangs are fighting over land
Home prices and rents are way up from where they should be.
Jobs are low supply.
Future is looking shaky.
Schools are... well... virtual. Its probably going to become less appealing for students of late HS age to stay focused and obtain a degree. School is a safespot for a lot of kids.

Not just here, but everywhere. I will be shocked if crime is down YOY.

Well, given the fact that Saint Fentanylus prior arrest video will be shown to the jurors chances are there will be some fiery but mostly peaceful protests...

Are you saying facts will matter?

Lenox Street? Annunciation Road? Tough, tough area back in the day (meaning the 70's-80's), now gentrified a bit, but a pandemic followed by an economic downturn can definitely cause crime to return. There are a lot of bored, unrestrained, and at-risk youth out there gullible enough to accept a challenge to go on a dare.

They only need to matter to one of the 12. Now, Chauvin is clearly a piece of **** who belongs in jail for plenty of reasons, but Saint Fentanylus choking on his own wares isn't one if them.

What are they at now, 3rd Degree Murder? I'm predicting it will end up as a Manslaughter charge or something. It will get ugly, no doubt.

Yeah, it doesn't look like he actually caused the death. To be murder in any degree he would have had to cause the death. But he clearly had a duty to render aid, especially while acting in a law enforcement capacity. He was advised numerous times that the man couldn't breathe, and he did nothing. Real piece of work.
