Apparently some complaints were filed with the AG's office who said it didn't violate public accommodation laws. But even "old school" black leaders like Reverend Eugene Rivers saw it as divisive and bad politics. Rev. Rivers has contributed more to urban issues in this city over the years than all of them combined.

I don't pretend to agree with everything Rivers does or says and he no doubt has a well packaged shtick (most public figures do), but I know of his work and I definitely agree with him here. You were probably in diapers when Rivers was serving the community and helping to reduce violence in Boston neighborhoods.
