Here I thought that the voters only supported people who want to tax the Rich, not the working class?

CA, somethings never change. Claim one thing and do another.

I am so sorry to hear that. I registered 5 cars this year and paid $150.00 and that included online registration fees. In CA the cost would be ........ MUCH higher. Aint' Political Socialism wonderful.

That's very admirable. On the other hand, my heating bills for every month of the year, year in and year out, are $0 per month. So one overpays in one area and underpays in others, depending on where they live. The important part is: we're both apparently happy where we live. The difference is: you'll never see me in the TN forum (or TX, MO, etc) crowing about the benefits of living in California vs TN.

THAT, my dear man, is the difference between someone who is secure with their choices in life and someone who has something to prove, as in insecure.

I bid you peace, as that TV chef used to say at the end of his show.

Well my heating and A/C bill dropped overall when I moved from CA. Consequently I do not have to make up any cost difference on the car fee. Now my heat was not bad in CA, but the A/C was through the roof. Note: I am NOT speaking of an insulation problem either.

I post here because I have fiends and family in CA as well as a piece of my heart. I love the State and it's many beauties. It is what the Gov't has done to it that is frustrating. Good weather and other desirable features cannot make up for that. I know you enjoy it there and hope you keep doing so. You are of course welcome to come to the TN forum, especially if you have friends and family there, as I do in CA. Plus I own a business with an office in CA so I still am impacted by what is done there.

Did I see that you live in Fontana??? I used to drag race there in the 60's. It has changed a lot, especially with the Hell's Angels gone. Strange how their house burned down the way it did when so many were on a ride.

Just checked, after the last tripling, I'm now paying 380. If it triples again I can't afford over 1100 a year. Truck will be up for sale and everything I tow.

The trouble is the market will be flooded with like vehicles just like after the first round of 5.00 dollar gas.

This isn't a tripling of the tripling. The first tripling got rolled back when Davis was recalled and Ahnold elected. It went up for two years recently, but that ended. The proposal would enact the increase Davis got canned over. My car was new in 2008 and the "License Fee" history is a follow:

2008-$242
2009-$226
2010-$356
2011-$312
2012-$151

Normally, it comes down a little each year but there was spike in 2010 and 2011. This is the portion of the total registration bill that would triple under this proposal. That's an extra $302 if it were in effect for 2012 on my registration. Then there's the extra $100 in fees tacked on that aren't listed here but vary with county.
