Well not a lot of data or support from Sleepy either. So again you have proven my point about your typical defensive California lefty.

Better question would be why do people who don’t even live in the state feel the need to bash California?

What data could I present to disprove such a vacuous claim and why bother?

There's too much hate on this state.

Look things are done differently here. I get paid paternity leave, I surf for fun, and I generally avoid eating standard American food (i.e. burgers, steaks, BBQ, turkey and mashed potatoes etc) because I think it's terrible, bland food. I prefer Asian and Latin, for most meals.

We have stricter air pollution controls because some cities like Los Angeles and San Jose get no rain 6 months a year, have millions of people living in them, and have mountains ringing them on 3 sides holding in pollution. Having high speed rail connect massive cities which are separated by hundreds of miles of difficult roads and mountains makes sense here.

Most of the people from states that have people criticizing us have their own problems. I've lived in 4 other states and CA is my favorite. At least until I want to semi-retire anyway. Then I'll move to a low cost red state and enjoy my supersized social security check and 401k I got working in a high wage region. However, I won't spend my time there ranting about how they're conservative baffoons and how there's too many or too few immigrants or whatever. It is what it is.

Many people who do not live in CA have lived there in the past; they usually enjoy reading many threads about many issues and just put their 2 cents worth in. What you see as bashing is often very objective opinions. I have rarely seen anyone post a bashing response to a topic about CA if they are not familiar with the state.

Agree. Some of us still own property in the state so it's not like we don't have a presence or even an option to come back if we choose too. And I do feel that often times, the opinions are indeed very objective and varied. I hardly think with as many people that live in the state or are originally from here, that everyone is going to agree on everything (and it's not practical to expect that).
