You'd still be able to drive those cars in California, as well as drive cars powered by non-fossil fuels.

People are always complaining about the gas tax in California -- well, switching to a car powered by an alternate fuel would solve that problem, wouldn't it?

(And, yes, I'm sure the state would find a way to still collect its dreaded due on those vehicles as well).

And, as noted above, this is just Brown's idea; it would have a long road (no pun intended) to get passed legislatively.

I can hear the lobbyists for the used car dealers, gas stations, and oil companies tuning up their battle gear already.
It's pretty obvious in my paragraph that I know it's ICE cars. Thanks for playing.

But it wasn't obvious in your thread subject line.

So, it could cause misunderstanding and confusion among people who don't read your post carefully.

Unless, of course, that's your plan.

I can how it may look a bit click baitish. But then again if I said ICE cars people may think it's a ban on border patrol. Lol.

Governor Jerry Brown has expressed an interest in barring the sale of vehicles powered by internal-combustion engines, Mary Nichols, chairman of the California Air Resources Board, said in an interview Friday at Bloomberg headquarters in New York. The earliest such a ban is at least a decade away, she said.

I'd rather drive a 1960 cadillac than an electric car.

More and more workplaces are getting charging stations. I guess people who commute to work and leave the car at home have to figure something else out. Some car manufacturers are coming out with fuel cell technology soon.

My Company switched directions after trying the charging stations for years. Last year they ripped them out and now are just regular parking spots. Too many people just commute too far to make use of them. Basically a handful of people used them and it was rather difficult for anyone else to use them as it took too long to charge.

San Diego is trying to become bike friendly by putting bike lanes in where there weren't any and you should see the backlash and protests from the car crowd. Straight up venom.
