Naw, you can if you like. It was the headline story on Drudge Report which is good enough for me. Not sure how Moonbeam's words would be any different if it was a SoCal paper but okay.

Because it doesn't include the rest of what Gov Brown said. (The Daily Mail is a tabloid newspaper.)

From the L.A. Times:

“We’re facing a new reality in this state, where fires threatened people’s lives, their properties, their neighborhoods and billions and billions of dollars. So we have to have the resources to combat the fires,” Brown told reporters at a news conference at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.

The governor thanked firefighters for their efforts and expressed sympathy for residents who had lost their homes and animals, calling it a “horror” and “terrible tragedy for so many people.”

Brown added that climate change may exacerbate the weather conditions that caused the wildfires to explode.

“This is the new normal, and this could be something that happens every year or every few years,” he said. “We’re about to have a firefighting Christmas.”

With family in So Cal I get a bit annoyed with Gov Brown's saying wildfires will be the "new reality " The deadliest wildfire in California history was in 1933, so whats new? As an elected leader I'd like to see him spend his time on managing his resources, try being a leader. Big beautiful States like NY & Ca have the most useless elected leaders in the Country in my opinion.

I guess senile Brown forgot about the Bel Air fire that burned 500 expensive houses.

40 million people and we are building homes in the forest. What could possibly go wrong.

The Griffith Park fire was unique in that the firefighters then had few resources during the middle of the Depression.

You must not have been around during the terms of Governors Davis and Schwarzenegger. Jerry Brown is a vast improvement.
