Yes, unfortunately, the virus could have been here far before even Jan. Even the video you posted about the Bay Area couple’s trip to Wuhan in Nov. was what, considered very strange? As far as contract tracing that someone mentioned. It appears that would have been easier said than done. Look at Santa Clara county having trouble hiring now even with all the unemployment. Imagine how hard that would have been to implement with the low unemployment we had in Jan/Feb.

LOL, Exitus Acta Probat! Best thing I've seen today. (I can't quote your post, but "Rush to find a vaccine" was hilarious!)

From CNN's Jen Christensen
The US should have 100 million doses of one candidate Covid-19 vaccine by the end of the year, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and a member of the White House coronavirus task force, said Tuesday."https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/coronavirus-pandemic-06-03-20-intl/h_d9360b4e277953a4490fa5ee17285938

What is everyone think about this and will you take it if it found to be "safe" and effective ?

If, a vaccine is actually available by the end of year, then I would likely take it

Agree that it's a big if. Less than a year seems fairly unlikely.

Of course I would take a thoroughly-tested vaccine. I'd give it to my children.

There's no way it will have completed enough trials to be known to be safe and effective. That will take years. I might take it, if I feel the risk of side-effects is low, but I would not give it to my children.

I don't get why a county would need 700 contact tracers when apple and google already built that functionality into the phones. Just hire somebody that work with them.

Just copy what Asian countries are doing, each county can have their own "green passport", your status can become yellow or red depends when your phone detected that you came into contact with positive cases.

what we really need to hire, are workers that takes temperatures and records personal information (can be substitute if they have the app that scans) at restaurants/malls/stores/public transit entrances.

Too bad. It’s already on your phone. The last iOS and google upgrades had contact tracing tech on it.

Nope, it got an option but not the app. Unless you turn on the Bluetooth and install the app it will not work.
