They just gave us another trash can we have to use to create bio gas. Natural gas bad, bio gas good.

This proposal is completely asinine. If it passes the CPUC it will just prove how incompetent our government in California actually is.

With the current incentive structure, I am planning on getting an EV this year, but I’m going to (as I mentioned) hold on to my ICE car, disconnecting the battery and leaving it as planned nonop.

Because, right now, they’re talking about very cheap per kWh electricity, but I very much expect that the pubic response is going to be to use a LOT more electricity, which will drive up those low rates over a couple of years.
I'm with you there oh the PHEV. It's the bet of both worlds at the moment.

Ridiculous how SDGE is allowed to charge it's customers almost 50% more than the other elec companies.

I'm tired of being fleeced by SDGE for living in SD. We have not other option.

Under the proposal, households will see a fixed rate covering basic electricity services and the utility company’s operating costs on a scale based on their household income.
Households with annual income from $28,000 – $69,000 would pay $20 a month in Edison territory, $34 a month in SDG&E territory and $30 a month in PG&E territory.
Households earning from $69,000 – $180,000 would pay $51 a month in Edison and PG&E territories and $73 a month in SDG&E territory.
Those with incomes above $180,000 would pay $85 a month in Edison territory, $128 a month in SDG&E territory and $92 a month in PG&E territory.

Worse yet, CPUC has removed the cap on what those fixed rates can be and what they will allow.

The rate proposals are fallout from the bill which already passed. The energy companies are now required to establish the new income-based tiers. CPUC is just the conduit to allow the fixed rates to happen, but it's unclear what sort of criteria they'll use to approve any future changes (most likely hikes).

Imagine what other "income based" proposals the government will come up with next

The whole thing is a joke.

It's asserted this is needed because we pay some of the.highest rates in the country.

In SDGE's own proposal claims they will make no more revenue or profit with the change.

So if the same amount of $ (if you even believe this) is going to the utility how does it address the goal.
