asitshouldbe...in spite of everything, you have kept moving forward to make your next best decision each time...keep doing that because it has worked so well for you. The support groups are GREAT!! For some reason, I think what your doc is telling you about going the first route sounds the best to me. I don't personally have experience w/CA (I've worked in healthcare for 9 years), but have read all the posts on your thread. Thinking you might feel better if you had some face-to-face friends from support groups in your city. Keep up the good work!! You're very inspiring!! xxoo 'M'
Well, it will be three weeks tomorrow since surgery, I've been healing pretty good. I've have some really down days though, can't shake the whole cancer things out of my mind.
I had surgery scheduled to put in the port on 7/2 but rescheduled it for 7/9, we decided to go on vacation the first week of July.
We'll be going to the Black Hills and watching the fireworks over Mt. Rushmore, I need one road trip before starting chemo on 7/11.
I'll keep you posted.

Please do: At least you have picked, what seems like a super place for vacation. We had wanted to do the Black Hills in Sept, but the time share we wanted to use was sold out til November and we didn't want to tackle the weather that late. Hopefully we will get there next year.
I know it is hard to shake the blues, but remember, there are a lot of cancer survivors out there and a lot of people pulling for you. Time has a way of healing.
Our vacation was amazing, I never get tired of driving through Custer or the Black Hills, we fed the donkeys three days in a row, on the third day we drove through after 7 pm and different animals come out later, glad we went back.
I had my port put in on Tuesday and had my first chemo today, so far so good, hope it stays that way.
Well that is one chemo down! How many to go? Take extra good care of yourself right now.
7 more to go, every two weeks, I get my Neulasta shot today. I was a bit nauseous last night but I started the three day cycle of anti nausea steroids today, still a little queasy but not to bad.
Feels just like pregnancy nausea, with 6 kids I'm a pro with anti vomiting techniques.
