Many people going through chemo develop conditioned responses to foods they eat when nauseous (Classical conditioning, remember Pavlov's dogs?). It is recommended by psychologists that patients not eat their favorite foods, comfort foods during these times so you can still enjoy them later.

You have a great attitude so far; keep it up, and I am so glad you enjoyed your vacation. If nothing else we are doing a similar trip next year. Hang in there, I know you will.

Southernbelle, I was counting on that Pavlov dog thing. I ate all the chocolate I could during chemo. Failed. I still like chocolate LOL My SIL couldn't stand chicken noodle soup - she'd eaten it so much during chemo.

Sorry to hear you felt so sick! Be sure you let your oncologist's office know the next time you speak with them. They may need to change your antinausea medications, or give you something else. I had bad stomach pains the first few rounds and it took that long to figure out what worked for me to keep me out of pain.

Oh, that is awful. I am sure it will get better and just remember, this too will pass. Good luck, hang in there. My heart goes out to you. Luckily when hubby had his 2 bouts with cancer, he didn't have chemo, just radiation.

Are they giving you an anti-nausea drug IV when you got your chemo? Let them know you are nauseous. There is no reason to be with today's drugs.
