I found a decent used car I was going to consider buying. The only issue is it has a cracked windshield. If I bought this and insured it with glass protection would I be able to have them cover a windshield replacement or would that not be covered since it's a pre-existing condition? I'm guessing not but you never know I guess.

That is a bit deceitful.

Why not ask your insurance right out? They usually are connected to glass shops and can get you a fair price.

Sorry, I guess I have a little bit less compassion for insurance companies than you do.

Slig, check with a shop that sells used auto parts, and see if they can get you a good deal on a new glass, they usually can have it installed for between $50 and $100...

I've seen people get out with a new glass and installation under $300.00

It is not compassion, but it is karma.

Actually, a cracked windshield would be considered a safety concern and, it may not only be unable to be registered or inspected, it may be illegal to sell it that way other than salvage. I'd take the repair cost estimate off the price and have it fixed before purchase. What other repairs have been neglected...?

Pre-existing conditions - such as a broken windshield - are not covered, so you'd have to lie in order to have a chance of it being covered.

That said, even if you could bring yourself to lie about it, and they fell for it, you'll still pay in the end if you get the insurance company to pay for the windshield.

Ok, that's all I needed to know. Basically one of the reasons why this car is so cheap is due to the fact that it has a cracked windshield...I'm just trying to figure out whether it would be worth the purchase or not and at this point I'm sorta leaning towards not.

Describe the year, make, model, miles and condition, and we can tell you if it is a good deal or not.
