I can certainly identify with many of the cat owners posting about their cats vomiting. We've had Sonny over 12 years, ever since we discovered him as a tiny kitten crawling out of a ditch. He's been quite healthy all his life except for having a couple of teeth pulled, until the last few weeks, when he has thrown up off and on...sometimes three or four times in a day. I took him to our vet, who ran all the blood tests and did x-rays, and found nothing, except she said his colon seemed pretty full...possibly hadn't pooped that day. Anyway, gave him the Cat-lax she sold us, along with anti-nausea liquid meds. He's seemed better for a week, then today pitched up several times again.

Like a couple of others have mentioned, I don't intend to let him suffer with anything, no matter how hard it will be to have that final shot given. And then there's Millie.....they've been together all his years, ...she's a year older, and lost her best buddy before we got Sonny. She visibly grieved, and has never been the carefree little cat she was before Maggie died. So if we have to have Sonny put down, what do we do about Millie? We've had cats all our lives, and loved all of them, but these will be the last. It's too heartbreaking to lose them, and we've been through it too many times. I'm not sure being an animal lover is really a blessing.

Of course it is a blessing...especiALly to the animal. Please don't give up on your kitty. Find a cat specialist or try another vet with a good reputation. it is not normal to barf that frequently. What are you feeding? have you changed? 12 is still young as many cats can live to be 20. Don't give up on your cat......
