oh so sorry chasey...... sometimes things can never be explained to our satisfaction and understanding...... maybe she was meant to be guardian angel for her momma and brothers and sisters.....
although i suspect that momma already has a pretty good one, seeing how she was led to you and yours.......
I mention the nursing...because, early on we had one...appeared to be nursing ok...but in the end, died. It could not nurse properly because of the cleft palate. Never got the full nourishment it needed. You might want to weigh each kitten daily, at least for the first 2-3 weeks.
Oh, Chasey, how heartbreaking! I am so sorry! Oh, life at times is so tough and this is one of those times. (((HUGS))) more (((HUGS))) and (((HUGS))) to Mali. A baby angel has flown home......
The "kitten shower" care package I mailed off to "Mali and Family" yesterday had a gift for all of them - and six sumpinsumpin's. But now there're only five cats. Oh well. It's always good to have a spare.
Were the babies named yet? As does just about everything, I know I know, this calls to mind a story I once read in the local paper. EMT's and firefighters were called to a house to assist a woman in labor; she ended up delivering a stillborn boy. Understandably, the family was too distraught to call in a priest right then and there. So one of the firefighters let them know he was Catholic - had they thought of a name for the child? They had, so the "jake" performed a makeshift baptism in the bathtub. It was a great comfort for the family. Maybe chasey and the other shop folks could do something like that to bless and honor the kitten who didn't survive.
We haven't named the kitties yet. It's hard tio name them when we don't really know them.
Everybody around here kind of stomped around depressed. My dad was taking it hard. As he and Mali have a crazy good bond. Even the shop employees played some of the saddest songs we could come up with on the jukeboxs.
Mali's doing all right today. She's taking care of the tribe. And I'm fairing well. That's all I can say.
I want to say thanks again for the support. if I could give you guys repsI would, but silly CD and their system won't allow it right now.
But on a lighter note....I got my camera today. Lets hope Mali's up for a photo op!
