I was very surprised to read this. Boneheaded move on both their parts. Her reputation has been good and if it remains a one time drunken mistake it will be forgotten quickly. People love a good Comeback as it is. Look at Britney Spears for example. Went from a long meltdown to back on top.

Is it bad I find this hilarious, not the actual driving drunk part by the husband, but the actions afterward.

I'm not sure that I have ever bought that she was squeaky clean. I think she was very protective about her image, and obviously had a good publicist.

i think it's sad and i don't think any less of her. she was obviously drunk. i know i have done and said things that i wish i hadn't while drinking. i'm sure she is very embarrassed. none of you have said or done anything after having too much to drink that embarrassed yourself or the people with you? the driving drunk part is bad. no doubt about that. i'll bet there is more than one of us here that has had one too many drinks and got in the car and drove home. i hope they have learned a lesson and don't do it again. but i am not judging them. i think it's always sad when stuff like this happens. fortunately nobody was hurt. that's the most important thing.

This was so preventable. They could have used a car service or a cab to go out in rather than drive. That's what smart people do.

so did Mel Gibson but he was crucified in the press and fans dropped him like a scalding pan.
At the time Mel was on his drunken running his mouth spree, most were saying drunks say what they really feel while drunk. Reese must be an egomaniac then. She can issue a hundred I'm sorry apologies and the fact will remain that she is as low as any other drunk driver scum. Yea,her husband was the driver so the same applies to him.
