Moore first became famous to Americans through some television shows. He starred in "Ivanhoe", "Maverick", and "The Professionals" in addition to "The Saint".
The series in which he co-starred with Tony Curtis was "The Persuaders", not "The Professionals".
Does anyone remember Roger Moore in ffolkes : When terrorists take over two oil rigs and threaten to explode them if their demands are not met, an eccentric anti-terrorism expert volunteers his unique commando unit to stop them.
I thought it was a good movie overall. and I did like him as James Bond
I'm thinking he was supposed to be Bond after Sean Connery's first retirement, but then something fell through and they got George Lazenby instead. Ironically the same kind of thing happened when Roger Moore retired and Pierce Brosnan was supposed to take over, but they wouldn't let him out of his Remington Steele contract so they got Timothy Dalton instead
Roger Moore was a humorous James Bond, and that's what I liked most about him.
