Not a traditional cabbage taste, no. Not sure what causes that, perhaps the pinch of sugar has something to do with it - taking away that bitterness. Of course, the package of bacon pieces might have something to do with it too! If you don't like cabbage, I'm not sure how you'll like this because I love cabbage, so I can't relate. But, it's worth a try. Don't forget to stir often when making this so all the pieces get cooked evenly.

I will post an update for you. You are right bacon makes most anything taste so good! LOL!

If you need, I do have an actual recipe for this somewhere. I think I took it from Southern Living?? But I don't, as usual, follow it exactly. It's so easy though. Cook the bacon in a bit of oil. Add the chopped cabbage. Cook and stir for about 10 minutes. At that point, add the pinch of sugar. Continue cooking and stirring until the cabbage is nice and soft.

I think I cook it on medium.

Update: it went over well. DH loved it and I did ok with it in a small serving. TY!
