Well that was a good run on the boiled peanuts; what about boiled okra?
I love it, but think most people won't like it at all. Lots of northerns probably don't like okra no matter how it's cooked.

Boiled (slimy) okra is good, however, I love fried okra!

Gotta say I love fried okra but boiled okra and tomatoes isn't too bad either. Not my first choice of veggie. Not fried cabbage - that's a whole 'nother story! That's some good eats.

I'm a northerner and I like okra. I was actually looking at okra plant tonight. I might buy some. What do you do with the boiled okra? I have only fried it and used it in stew.

Cabbage is great! I saute it to put on burgers, have it raw in salads, make cabbage soup, and make stuffed cabbage.

You boil the okra and then mix it with stewed tomatoes. Warm both through. Good when you need to use the veggies you put up.

Then I would suggest traditional fried cabbage. Cut a package of bacon into pieces and fry up (remember always fry your bacon on medium). Add a head of chopped cabbage. Add a pinch of sugar. Cook until the cabbage is all soft, stirring it every so often to coat with the bacon grease. It's very good.
