Thoroughly disappointed in Bottles. They have a decent liquor selection, but their beer side seems to be stocked with *ssholes. My wife went out to fill a bomber and they refused to sample (never experienced a refusal of this, even Laura Alberts gives out quarter bottles when trying to sell). They want to charge for RETURNING their growlers, which is utterly unheard of and retarded. Not to mention, their customer service there, when I have asked for it, is plain, rushed, and nonchalant.

I will only go here when pressured. Utterly terrible customer service.

In the meantime, much much praise for Laura Alberts. They are great with the customer and will let you sample their taps whenever. They have a great beer selection at a decent price. And their bottle selection is prime as well. Cheers to Laura Alberts on DI.

You might also want to check out Sauer Grapes on Daniel Island... ostensibly a wine bar .. it also carries a large assortment of wines and beers for purchase... usually the hard to find stuff.. at discount prices. Its open from 3pm to 10pm... weds thru sat ... wine tastings are held regularly.

We've always had a positive experience wine and beer shopping at Bottles. Southern Season has also been a very positive experience.

How are the growler fills at Southern Season? Decent selection? I wish they displayed their current taps online...

Total wine is the best I've found. Getting out of the parking lot sucks though.

You should definitely check out House of Brews on Ben Sawyer. It's literally just a house with tons of local beers. The staff is laid back and there are lots of cool and friendly regulars.

Coast Brewery is open to the public on Thursday and Saturdays. Westbrook also has a tap room.
