You will be able to search for rentals on most Realtor web sites as well as through The Post and Courier - News, Weather, Classifieds, Sports - Charleston SC - postandcourier.com (http://www.Charleston.net - broken link), Craigs List and other internet web sites. I and other Realtors and non Realtors on this forum will be glad to give you the pros and cons of the communities in which you might have rentals under consideration.

We will rent our house out here until we can sell for at least what we owe.

We will rent until that time comes, which should give us plenty of time to look around and decide on an area, we will be needing a rental though, we would prefer to rent a home, rather than apartment and that would have to be in Wando school district. Hubby arrives there in just over a month and I hope to get there in June He is used to 'scouting' out a home for us, so that shouldn't be a problem.

As long as you rent/buy a home in Mount Pleasant Wando is your high school. Now you just have to find a home that fits your needs.

Thank you Joe and Beachme, Yes, now we just need to find a home I checked the link you posted Joe (thankyou) it was pretty sparse as far as rental homes go, only 3 listings, plenty of apartments. We really would prefer a house. We are looking to start the rental around the beginning of July, so if anyone hears of a 3 bed 2 bath home in a good area around that time frame, I would really appreciate a 'shout out', we are hoping to keep the rent under $1250 pm, is that a reasonable hope?

Thank you again for your help/info

The mls lists 2 homes in Dunes West, one in Belle Hall and one in Laurel Grove in the $1225 to $1285. All three communities are quite nice. You may be a little early in trying to rent something starting in July.

Hi, There are a lot of options for you. I sailed a lot a while back- through the Caribbean and down to South America. I now live in Mt. Pleasant, but have fond memories of my time spent on the water. There are many boat slips available for sale in the Charleston area and housing in your price range is not a problem.
Several are in other areas of Charleston besides Mt. Pleasant. The newest marina is on John's Island. I am now a realtor, so I would be glad to send you info you may not as yet received about Mt. Pleasant and/or other near-by areas. Best regards, Lane Derby
