Any good organic food markets in the north Charlotte area? And I don't mean Harris Teeter with its small, tried, bad selection - I mean something similar to Whole Foods
Thanks
Yeah, what pantherfan101 said. We take trips every couple of months up to the Whole Foods in Winston-Salem to stock up on non-perishables and as much fresh/perishable as we can use up in a week or two. We also make sure we plan time for a run by Whole Foods anytime we're traveling near one - I have to go up to Chapel Hill next week, will be making a stop at Whole Foods. Same thing when we go to Atlanta.
Here in Charlotte, we kind of have to do a mashup of Earth Fare/Home Economist/Trader Joe's to get by.
Earth Fare in Southpark, Matthews Farmers Marketwhere you will find MUCH better tahn any other food store. WF and TJs and EF all have foods from china...and foods that have forms of MSG.
This time of year, I get most of my produce from Farmer's Markets. I'm not sure what's available where you are, but there's Pickles Farmers Market in NoDa and Atherton Mill & Market in South End - both of these are newer, so you won't find huge varieties of produce, but if you support what's there, they'll grow!! I've been enjoying the cherries, blueberries, peaches, eggs, cukes, squash, red chard & tomatoes I got last Saturday!
As resident mentioned, the Matthews Farmers Market has a very nice BIG selection of organic produce.
I've heard Yorkmont has organic produce, but you have to get there early; I haven't gone there in years.
