What does this school system believe constitutes a "good breakfast?"
Goodness, no wonder there are so many fat kids now. I am no nutritionist, but I'm guessing that Super Doughnuts, Breakfast Pizza, chicken/sausage biscuits, french toast with syrup (no doubt high fructose), biscuits with gravy, something called a cinamanon twists swirl, string cheese and so forth, don't make a good start to a day of learning their sums and alphabet. Poor little kiddies are probably crashing and burning from the sugar and fat rush by 10am and will need a smoke and some coffee, like their parents, to get over it.
The USDA guidelines are a joke. Anyone watch Jamie Oliver's food revolution? French fries, fried chicken on a bun met all the requirements, but his whole wheat pasta with FIVE veggies did not?!
The kids will sugar up on juice, chocolate milk and whatever those Super Donuts are. Yeah, that's great for learning.
FTR, I have no issue with the school providing breakfast, and frankly, I don't even care if I ultimately pay for it (there are worse things than feeding children, even other people's children), but I wish they would actually provide a HEALTHY breakfast if they're going to do it.

Great post and yes I watched it....(also agree w/100% of your post)
I'm in the same boat....it shouldn't come to this (govco providing breakfast for all kids because the parents should be doing it), but if I'm going to pay for something, there are worse things....
Also, the USDA is a joke....plus no one screams at this because many people are overweight and are ashamed because they themselves don't eat healthy so they'd be hypocrites for complaining.....
