We just bought one of their "special buy" buffalo chicken pizzas the other night, excited about trying it. A lady I work with has a significant other that works for Aldi in their offices so she gives me a heads up on special buys and the new stuff coming in. haha So far she's been spot on in terms of recommendations!

Just one example was @ Smithfield Bacon processing where we would just tuck the Aldi bacon in an Aldi carton right alongside the Smithfield product. The reason it's cheaper is that Aldi doesn't mark it up as much and has much lower overhead than a Harris Teeter for instance.

This is such an awesome post to me because bacon is one of the things I always buy at Aldi!

My cousin in another state shops there for things like cereal, paper products and canned goods. She said, with teen boys in her home, that it saves her a TON of money.

But, the ones I have seen around Charlotte are in less desirable areas and seem kind of unkept.

Were you referring to their locations?
I assume that they may choose locations with cheaper rent/leases to help keep their overheads down, just like you "pay" 25c for a grocery cart.

Wanted to say that I've also had great success with plants I've bought at Aldi-from the $5 shrubs in boxes (Hibiscus, Jasmine, Wisteria, Smoke bush etc etc) to the $15 ish 3-4 ft saplings like flowering plum, Dogwood and Red buds.
