So I've been traipsing through these discussion boards, hearing that Charlotte is not a town for singles in their twenties...
But I'll be moving down in less than two weeks for a six-month film gig.
I'm a mature, freewheeling, funky 21-year-old looking for someplace near a coffee shop and nightlife, hopefully with a bit of an arts scene and a welcoming, open-minded crowd. I'm moving from Philadelphia, so I'm really a city chick, but I'm excited about this new lifestyle.
The only neighborhoods I've heard about are NoDa, which I hear is unsafe and University City, which seems very out of the way... My office is going to be north of Uptown, so I'm trying not to live too far out.
Any neighborhood suggestions?
Heck, any advice at all?
(Please don't scare me off; I must indeed move to Charlotte...)

NoDa might actually work for you, so don't be scared off too easily.
I'd look at the Fat City Lofts there for starters.
The other thing you need to do a little homework on is the six month thing. Most people are not wanting to do short-term leases without higher rent. In some cases, much higher.
