I need to find a somewhat upscale seafood restaurant to take my wife for her birthday. She wanted to got to Lavecchia's since it has been so long since we have been there. Well I guess it has been a long time because they are closed. Any other ideas in that price range? I really keep striking out on restaurants this week. They keep closing on me.

I've never been there personally, but have heard great things about McCormick & Schmick's in Uptown.

LaVecchia's is closed. I've never really had good seafood in Charlotte. We had a lunch meeting at Upstream once and it was awful and I didn't care for LaVecchia's when it was open.

Frankly, the only seafood I have liked in Charlotte is at Firebirds and Bonefish and I usually hate chains.

MY wife loves this place. It can be a little expensive but it's worth it.

We've been here for my birthday. Call ahead and make a reservation. Give the event and your wife's name. Since they print menus daily (or, was it twice a day?) they will add her name to your menus. The first time we went there for my birthday, I was totally blown away!

That being said, we've had better service at the M&S at Southpark, rather than Uptown.

There's a new place in Huntersville called Benji's Grill. Seafood is the speciality.

Wow...thanks for the info. My wife would love that... we have a menu framed at the beach house in Southport.

OMG, and I felt bad for saying Bonefish. If you like it, I guess that's your thing but I don't get how that place stays in business. Are there that many people who go there for the biscuits?
