Someone from Canada posted a similar question, just search for what to do while in Charlotte and you will get a lot of information. If you stick with people's suggestions you will have a great time here. Just be careful, anywhere could be a bad area if you are not careful.
Ok, that me take out the P.C. version of this thread , because it is growing a little tiresome. Check out the city for yourself. If the comments say stay away from all areas of Charlotte that are not South Charlotte, that is code word for the majority of residence in south charlotte are not people of color. I also like to tell it like it is and to all the people who said stay away from North Charlotte, are you including all subdivisions with homes above 300K, or East Charlotte areas with homes above 400K. or are you just making random uninformed banter.
west side all of that is except belmont and other places but the east and north are bad to even parts of southeast are bad like monroe rode lot of drugs
East side representin here! This part of town gets a bad rap. Sure, it's a little dangerous with hoodlums and MS-13 gang members strolling about, but once you get down by Plaza-Midwood area, it's hip and eclectic. And it's diverse. And diversity is our strength! Right? Yeah, I've had a gun stuck in my face while walking with my infant son and I've chased down some hoodies with my machete. But that's exciting compared to those boring areas that so many love to promote. Who doesn't enjoy the occasional gang battle in the streets?
Bad areas of town; where you don't feel comfortable.
It's relative to the person.
