Can someone give me a little info about the housing off of Mount Holly - Huntersville Rd just north of Brookshire blvd? (outside 485).

I drove around the area about a week ago and it seemed like a nice neighborhood. I know that once inside I-485 it's a different story but how much does the area inside 485 impact the area I mentioned above? (known as Mountain island?)

Look at the map below if you're confused of the area i'm talking about:

your looking at the overlook. Awesome neighborhood. lots of lakefront homes. I don't think you can buy a home for under 400k I live on the other side of 16 in riverbend. a nice neighborhood, but nothing like the overlook. There is only 4 places I would live in this area. Riverbend, mt isle harbor, stonewater, and the overlook. go both ways on mt holly huntersville rd, and you have lower income neighborhoods.

I am also interested in this area. We are looking for a water front property. How are the schools and restaurants in this area?

Drive across the bridge and you're in Gaston County. Schools are much much better as are the property taxes.
