Alot of the women that are prostitutes in these places are sexual slaves. Some have been taken from their home country and sold into slavery. It is very sad that this is happening in plain sight in America.
I do have a philisophical question though: Do prostitutes who sell it on the street go to jail because they don't pay taxes to the government? In California, the porn industry is huge!!! Those women get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to do the same thing, except for the fact that they have a W-2. So is it the immorality, or not giving Ceasar his due that is the crime? I guess the same could be said for illegal drugs vs legal drugs, etc. The ones who pay taxes don't get "busted".

Never thought of it being justified quite that way (as far as putting people in jail for prostitution).
Seems like it would be an IRS issue if it just had to do w/ taxes . . . ?? Or no???? So they must charge them w/ something to do w/ a sex act. I guess there are laws about getting paid for sex, LOL.
All I know is . . . these women get treated badly and the people to go to jail should be the pimps.

I agree about the pimps going to jail. What I was saying has to do more with how we define what is right or wrong. When you look at the porn industry, it is the same players just a different game. (Directors/Companies/Government Taxation)= Pimps. (Porn Actresses)= prostitutes. (People who buy the DVD's and such)= johns.
Think about moonshining in Applachia. The government shut them down because they weren't paying taxes. Then allowed huge breweries to do essentially the same business, but they paid taxes.
The numbers runners in the inner city, jailed and shutdown, only to become the state lottery. Many peole are are hooked on legal drugs, but we don't call those drugs evil, because drug companies pay taxes. Like I said, a purely philosophical point. We call certain forms of things evil, when you can find "legal" forms that are not. So who is forming our opinions?
You are not being very compassionate, calling another human being "it." I hope I don't become so callous to the plight of others.
I agree although, the poster may not have meant to say "it". I got many negative responses when I took a similar issue with a posters choice of words, not realizing that the typed word lacks many of the unspoken characteristics that the spoken word possesses. Sometimes people don't mean it exactly as it is written.
Speaking to your point, in America it is easy for people to be callous. We are seperated from eachother, our environment, and our true spiritual connection with the Earth. Eventhough the use of the word "it" may have been unintentional you bring up a valid point.
See what I mean. No one admits to using a call girl, prostitute or frequenting massage parlors - but it appears selling sex is big business. Unreal. I find it difficult to fathom.

Why? Its the oldest business on Earth, and we use it to sell everything from shaving cream to cars. Putting that link on this forum was pretty sleazy though.

I won't mention the town, but years ago someone in a small NC town tried to open a topless night club. The local church had it members take pictures of the men as they went inside. It didn't take long for the place to close. I am sure someone would bring legal action for something like that today, but it worked then.
Don't you think that call girls, dope, and organized crime go together. That is the biggest reason I would like to see a zero tolerance for it and I don't care whether it is the person selling or the person buying that is arrested. I just don't want to live somewhere where this goes on. Congratulations to the police and sheriff for their good work.
