Hi Guys,

Any news on the opening date of the BLOOM store in Steele Creek off 160?

The sign has been sitting there for quite a while yet....

Thanks.

I haven't heard any news of an opening date, but the fact that they've begun building means it can't be too far off. That CVS looks to be moving along nicely.

I'm not even sure they are building the Bloom Store. The construction looks more like a strip mall. It seems to be too small for a supermarket.

I've had similar thoughts. You might be right.

I think they are waiting to start the store b/c they have to realign that part of Dixie River Rd to make room. I think my husband has seen the site plan, so I'll see if I can dig it up on the internet somewhere.

Hope you can find this out. I have been curious, as well.

the site NCDave posted has a great map. there is one here too: LoopNet - Shopton Square at SteeleCreek & I-485, Retail (land), 8500 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte, NC

if you can picture it, right now Dixie River Rd. runs right through the middle of where the Bloom building will be. They have to move the road before they can start. It looks from NCDave's link that the new outparcel they built perpendicular to the one that was there first will actually be attached to the Bloom.

does that help?

Just wanted to share with you guys:

I've sent an e-mail to Bloom asking about the opening date of the new store at Highway 160 (Steele Creek Rd) and Dixie River Rd. This is what they answered:

**************************
Thank you for your interest in our new store in Charlotte on Highway 160. This location is, indeed, on our list of new Bloom stores we plan to open. However, we can't predict at this time when exactly we will be in the best position to open the store. The construction process takes time and there is much we consider, including overall capital expenditures and the economy. Please feel free to check with us again in a few months.

I'm pretty sure they need to wait for the realignment of where berewick commons meets shopton at the light. I think the bloom is going to be pretty much on top of where it currently runs into 160.

The traffic circle behind cvs is already in so i would expect the road will be transitioned shortly.
