Oh great call on a great song (Breakfast in America, great album, too!!!).
Almost makes me want to go for a drive.
Almost...
HA HA HA. I have been in the mood for a cross country lately (well 1/2 cross country) back to KS. I have all these crazy side trips I take along the way. Kinda missing that.

You get some songs that are perfect for areas or time of day. Perfect example...Van Morrison..."Cleaning Windows"..."Tupelo Honey"..."Crazy Love"...awesome for dusk.
Elton John's "Philadelphia Freedom" was always great going to Philly for a concert or sporting event. You can put "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" for dusk driving. A lot of Springsteen's "Wild, Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle" is perfect for driving around New Jersey, particularly "Rosalita", yet his "New York City Serenade" off of that same album is perfect for Manhattan driving.
I really like Van Morrison when driving the river drives in Philly, especially Brown Eyed Girl. I don't know why, but Philadelphia Freedom works best for me on the "Sure-kill", if it's moving. The Wild, the Innocent, & the E Street Shuffle can't be beat for driving east on Rt 70, towards the Pine Barrens.

This is so crazy!!! We all totally relate to having very specific songs for particular places and times!!! I LOVE IT!! I thought maybe I was the only one who did that . . .

Nope, You have plenty of company, Ani! Now some songs that I relate to driving in Philly might be surprising. The Allman Brothers are also great for driving the river drives.

True story: I was making the last trip with boxes from home in Kearny to move in with my then-to be-wife in early June of 1994. Turned off of the Garden State Parkway exit towards Old Bridge, my new home, and the old WNEW FM started playing "New Kid in Town". I remember thinking to myself, "well that's appropriate".
Flash forward to the first time I hit 29 over here...my car packed to the top with boxes, her car packed as well, the rest of our stuff in an interstate moving truck who knows where. I'm sitting at a light, no more than 10 minutes away from our new place here, the magnitude of what we had just done is finally starting to really sink in, and the classic rock XM station starts playing "New Kid in Town".
Needless to say that song and new destinations are forever etched in my mind.
mornin' all....they are saying that the fog is really dense out there, so, be careful. Luckily, I only have a short drive up Harris to get to work.
You guys sure plan your music well while driving....me? I just take whatever is on the radio. Last trip to the city, we listened to my son's iPod (over and over again!) because he does not like to listen to the radio.
