I believe this community is in Mint Hill, is that right? There's a lot to like about Mint Hill - you should get out in the neighborhood and knock on some doors to meet some of the neighbors, they'd be in the best position to tell you all about living there

I can tell you I pulled out of the neighborhood after 1 murder and 2 shootings not even 2 miles away. Since then, another murder. (This was last May) PLUS there is a train that runs extremely close to the community and it runs at all hours..

IMO...the community is too big and Centex will never finish building there. There are too many unknowns due to its size. You don't know who will finish building out the homes there not to mention what type of product or price point. Additionally, while its proximity to 485 is notable, its otherwise in a marginal area and average to below average schools.

However, if this is the price point you feel comfortable with and the location and community work for your needs then go ahead buy there. Of course, I could be wrong. It's all speculation and there are people who would say that the Ballantyne area is horrible too... you just need to do what's right for you...I personally however, think you could take a lot of risk out the equation by buying in a more completed/built out neighborhood.

Well if you like hearing train horns at all hours and a very sketchy area nearby, then by all means go ahead and purchase.

Thank you to all for all your input. This will be our first home purchase and it is a big thing for me and i want to make sure i am doing the right thing. I still havent made up my mind for sure. The price is great and the easy access to 485 is a plus. We currently live in MAtthews and i love all the convience we have right here. I only wish that that area had the same in that area as well. Well thank you again, and keep all the input coming good and bad!
