Why bother wasting your time going to Southpark since it is such an emotional drain on your consumerism?

FWIW, there is a thread in another forum comparing Mall of the Emirates to Lenox, sounds right up your alley.

Hey Newbie here,

How about Concord Mills vs. Discovery mills LOL? Wait..what about Stone mountain vs. Kings mountain or lake lanier vs lake norman? Seriously, when are the stupid comparison going to stop. I feel like Charlotte has shortman syndrome. I like Charlotte, but it's just not Atlanta.

^You may be right, but to our advantage we can look at what ATL did 20 years ago that didn't work and do it better. Also, Atlanta can and does look Charlotte for ways to improve. An example is light rail. We all know Atlanta is a much bigger city than Charlotte. But bigger doesn't mean better. Atlanta and Charlotte have a common and more symbiotic relationship than people think.

Uhm no....That's what your little mind may think, but you're wrong. The only people that say Charlotte is trying to be like Atlanta are people from Atlanta and people from other parts of NC.....People in Charlotte want Charlotte to be Charlotte, simple as that. Stuck in the 80's? Okay....Powerdressing is back ya know.....Go back to the ATL forum, or maybe to the mall? The funny thing is...Atlanta leaders were in Charlotte not too long ago touring our light rail line in hopes of learning a thing or two....hmmm now that's interesting.

Come on now, Charlotte would love to be Atlanta with or without the problems. That's why people in Charlotte keep starting these vs. Atlanta threads. Nobody from Atlanta is checking for Charlotte like that. I live in Atlanta and most people on the streets have nice things to say about Charlotte. I know because most people think im from Charlotte when I say Im from NC. Then they go on to say that it's a nice growing city. With that being said, everybody down here knows that Charlotte is not on Atlanta's level. You will be old as hell if not dead waiting on CLT to catch present day Atlanta. Atlanta was CLT size back in 1980. It's been growing like crazy since and it still took 29 years to get to where it is now. CLT is no going to catch up in 5 or 10 years like people think. Nashville is a better comparison to CLT.
