This might sound dopey but could I get a little more detail on directions for the peach stand. Hamlet bypass? I'm not familiar. But geesh, homemade peach ice cream sounds just like what the doctor ordered.

We love, love, love Lazy 5 - I think we've been 4 or 5 times in the 2.5+ years we've been here!

One of my favourites state parks is South Mountain State Park and it's only about 75 miles away from Charlotte. There is a great hike there up to High Shoals Waterfall, equestrian trails, primitive camping (although I haven't tried it - not really a camper), and a bicycle trail. I have also recently found some swimming holes near to asheville and my kids loved them. McDowell Park is another great park and also camping available there - my kids have camped there with husband.

WOW! Thanks, SophiaL. I've bookmarked the site and looked it over. Gonna try and convince my grandmother to check it out with me this week.

Lived there for 8 years. Used to do tours after the cruise ships from Savannah started docking there. It is an amazing town. LOTS of history and so much nicer (in my opinion) than Myrtle Beach.

this is Springs Farm in Fort Mill, not the other place, but their peaches are soooooo good too! You can also pick strawberries there in the spring - you get a huge container of them (maybe 4 or 5 pints?) for $9 or something...can't remember the price...anyway, it's worth a little trip for sure.
