I know that taxes are lower in Union County
...On the other hand, I was told that utilities (water, sewer and electricity) were much higher.

It would be good to hear other poster's opinion.

I live in UC too. It's nice, it has that rural feel, but there is a lot of residential stuff, just not a lot of businesses. Very quiet, lots of transplants...it's ok. You can get a lot of house for your money out here, when we bought more than Meck, idk about now?

I like both, altho if I had my way I prolly woulda picked Matthews, older home.

Sounds like most of the University City, Northlake and Steele Creek areas of Charlotte 10 -25 years ago.

Oh and Native_Son? Might wanna clean up after yourself after you make d-bag comments like that in response to a not-too-far-from-the-truth comments from people like "uber_bwnage". You're dripping douche juice all over the thread...
Is there anything wrong with Stallings? I am considering one community there?

Nothing wrong with Stallings. The town council, or at least a couple of members, are nutty, but the community is great!

No, I don't live in Stallings.

I didnt mind the 35 mile-each way commute when I was younger, but after 10 years it sucked. I moved back to the Ballantyne area and feel its one of the best choises I've ever made.

That was Wingate/Marshville though. If I had bought in Marvin I would still be there. Or would have sold to some developer for a profit instead of settling for what I paid.
