I would think every state has gunowners in it.

If you want to believe there is more of a history elsewhere in the USA than in the South for gun ownership, fine with me! And it may be that the trend here in the South is to "long guns" more than hand guns . . . seems I did read that stat a while back.

That is exactly right. I keep hoping I will hear this was something b/n folks that actually knew each other or an incident that occurred b/c of some previous contact . . .

What I am wondering . . . is there a connection between all the car break-ins going on in the Ballantyne area and this particular home invasion? Just seems like a lot of theft going on in one area - spiking - more so than other areas of the city. Maybe that is a misperception on my part.

I still believe most of this stuff is not random. Hello?? An apartment complex?? at night when most residents would be home??? 3 armed gunmen??? The clip on the news made it seem that the resident's door was an interior door. And the resident appeared to be a single man. What kind of criminal takes that kind of risk for the type of "items" most of us have at home?? How much can 3 people carry? a laptop or two? maybe a pc or smaller flat screen? Surely not enough loot to justify taking that approach. I don't carry much cash on hand. Mayve 50 bucks on a GOOD day. ;-)

Of course, everyone should be aware of their surroundings and protective of their home, but common sense says their is more to the story. If it doesn't make sense, it usually isn't true.

Yeah, that makes sense. If you are gonna go to the trouble of a home invasion, looks like you would choose a place w/ stuff good enuff to make it worth the effort, LOL.
