Does anyone have any information about the home invasion that happened off of Ballantyne Commons Pkwy?
Here is a link and the only information I have seen so far.
Home invasion in south Charlotte - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/244/story/881873.html?storylink=omni_popular - broken link)
The article is very vague and no real details are released. Just curious...
If you people are afraid of home/apartment invasion,( which you should be), get yourself some protection.
I am not saying arm yourself with a gun, ( although it is an option), why not get yourself some pepper spray or a taser weapon or a stun gun ect?
I have seen pepper spray that looks like lipstick. You pop the top and spray the burgler and this gives you time to get out and contact the authorities.
I am in no way advocating taking the law into your own hands but what are you going to do for the 4 to 10 mimutes, ( if they get there that fast) it takes the authorities to get to you? Let the burgler continue to rip you off or worse rape you???

Hey, Mud! You are preaching to the choir here, LOL! This is the South. We all grew up with guns - and a surprising number of newcomers are starting to see the wisdom in protecting themselves - whether w/ pepper spray, baseball bat or a shotgun. We have a problem w/ repeat offenders here. Things stay quiet for a few months . . . then the thugs get back out on the street . . . and the break-ins start back again . . .

We got guns in Detroit to Ani, not everything has to be a north vs south thing.
Methinks that there is more to the story. Sometimes in cases like this the criminals know that a large amount of cash or "other items" are available in a specific location.

This what we always hope for in these cases because the alternative (completely random) is frightening... not that a "targeted" invasion isn't scary - it's just that we want to believe that it's not a coin flip by some crackhead in choosing the house.

The victim reported that two black males in dark clothing and a Hispanic male broke into their home and took items. The suspects fled in some type of unknown car. No injuries.
Here's the email I got from SpotCrimes.
