Ok, so we are thinking about moving to the area. We have friends and family that have recently moved there and rave about it. So I started to do some research and we have been down there a couple of times. It seems like a wonderful city on paper and from our limited time there(beautiful, family friendly, access to large city ammenities but with a small town feel). My concern is I keep reading on different blogs/posts all the concerns and complaints regarding the city. I know in a growing city there will be issues, but I don't want to second guess our decisions...so I am wondering, does anyone love Charlotte and why??
do yourself a favor and formullate your own opinions about the city. Everyone has different like and dislikes. If you are looking for assurance this is a good place to live, it is a GREAT place to live. But it has its "things" like everywhere does. One person may like something about here while another doesn't. Listening to someones gripes or accolades on a chat forum is not the way to decide on a life change.

Your question is pretty loaded. I can give you a million reasons why "I" love Charlotte, but that doesn't mean you would like it for the same reasons. Things like low cost of living, a good job, lots of things to do, the singles scene (I'm single), vibrant development; all appealed to me for living here. But a lot of that you can find in many places. I've lived in Atlanta and Dallas and they each offered much of the same; and in many instances they offered more. But I choose to live in Charlotte becasue it was a "mini" version of those cities. Despite the growth, I think its still a much more manageable city than either of those two. But the same can be said of places like Raleigh or Nashville. I can personally give you reasons why I would not live in either of those places, but again, you might have different needs. I would simply say you should consider where you live now versus Charlotte (or any other option you may have) and determine for "yourself" if you think your quality of life will be better.
