You may want to look in Lake Wylie. The area has a good number of new upscale homes, excellent schools, and an easy commute to the city (35 minutes with no need to get on the freeway) and airport (15 minutes).
We currently enjoy a very competitive real estate tax rate and it will be reduced by at least 1/3 this year because of a penny increase in the sales tax (6% in SC, 7% in NC).
I moved here from California 6 years ago and I am so happy my friend turned me on to Lake Wylie.
I looked at the website for Reflection Pointe -it looks very nice. Have you heard good or bad things about that area? What about the power lines - are these a concern? Thanks for any info.
Honestly, I have not heard anything bad about the area. I'm not sure about power lines, but they are very common here.
If I had that kind of money, I'd buy property on Lake Norman. Huntersville, Davidson, Cornelius, and Mooresville are the more populated side of the Lake. Denver and Sherill's Ford are less populated. I like Huntersville for the commute to Charlotte but I wouldn't want to go much past exit 23 if commuting during rush hour. The other areas will most likely have a longer commute.
Location: Sunny Phoenix Arizona...wishing for a beach.

Your darn tootin sista....I also rather have direct access to a freeway to get around. Wait until that loop is done.
