MikeyKid - Everyone knows that once you breathe that Charlotte air, you never look at resales again! $30 million with $250,000 property taxes - well, that's a bargain!!! Leave it to you to find a "better cheapie"!

I dunno, Emissary, if I suddenly had an urge to move into Charlotte, I like the houses near CMC, whatever that neighborhood is. . .

LOL, when I come down Kenilworth to Morehead, there's a bunch of houses that look like one of the nicer neighborhoods in Philly. Just the same, I'm perfectly happy where I am. (& I have an Ingles. . .)

If Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run is the "unofficial anthem of NJ", I "tramped ( no, make that ran!) out of NJ at Warp Factor 9" to NC, once I retired! I'm sure the OP will concur once they get here!

I like your line. . .NJ & I were no longer perfect together.

Even more - My wallet and NJ were no longer "perfect together", that's for sure! If I had stayed, it might have been "Death by a Thousand Cans of Cat Food" after paying the property tax bill and the car insurance bill!

I hear ya on that one.
My annual property tax here is about 2/3 of what my quarterly tax was in South Jersey, so I can only imagine. . . & I live in the city, so I'm paying city & county tax.
Actually guys, I (personally) know of three families that have made the move BACK to Jersey and one that desperately wishes they could. Also know of a senior citizen (lady) that is trying to get back there. things here aren't always for everyone.
I'm not from Jersey, but, many of my friends are. Most desperately miss it there and had they not sold everything to move down here, they would be back in a city minute. Only (personally) know a couple that are happy here.
just another perspective...
