And I invoke my own version of "Don't ask, don't tell."

I'm proud to say that after a 3-day stay in Rogers Park, and after having conducted a whole-body search, that I have no bullet holes or stab wounds anywhere on my person. I suppose that I could commend the fine work of the Chicago Police Department, or myself, for having taken the ordinary precautions, but in reality neither was really needed.

And I enjoyed myself so much, I just might stay at the same hotel again, although this time I'll be sure to barracade the door with an extra table and mattress, because I need to demonstrate more common sense..

And if the Polish lady with the babushka wants to offer me some mystery treats, I'll accept them with open arms..

So by not starting at the beginning you missed the info you wanted and instead ended up in "Short Attention Span Theater?"
Oh, the humanity

I lived there for 4 years on the lake at Pratt & Sheridan in one of those new condo buildings they built there during the boom, which have since lost 50% of their value. I moved there with two toddlers, and the area was not my cup of tea with little kids. There were many many young families that moved there during the boom, and the ones that could do a short sale and get out of there did so within a few years. There are positives and negatives about the area. If you are visiting and use common sense (i.e. don't walk around at 2 a.m. and stay around Loyola, then you will be fine. However, there are issues there as well that someone like myself with 2 little kids got tired of really fast. If you are single and want to live in the only area where you can actually live ON the beach in Chicago, rent is cheap and I bet you can get a GREAT deal on a luxury condo in my old building...

Rogers Park is not for fair weather fans.
Sheridan and Pratt is doing much better nowadays, the new sidewalk patio is being poured right now for Pillars Social Cafe (awesome new restaurant), looking good!!!!

Pratt Pride fever is doing very well.
