Agree wholeheartedly ... This Spring and Summer have been warmer and drier than average..we've had dew points that have remained in the 40s and 50s even as temps hit the upper 80s ..beats the heck of muggy, rainy springs and early summers from the recent past .. Even we we hit the 90s this week , it's been much worse .. I'll take this for the rest of the summer , maybe with a little rain and a few thunderstorms for entertainment and the plants ..

As I type this, it's 10 PM in the East, and it's still 90 degrees. No matter if you were raised in rural Mississippi, northern Minnesota, central Maine or the Everglades, that's pretty uncomfortable, especially at this time of night. When I walked in my living room one hour ago, and became engaged in a 10-minute phone conversation, the sweat started pouring down my face. I hung up, went into the bedroom, set the AC slowly down to 65, and now I'm just waiting for the whole room to cool off. I'm certainly not setting any AC to remain at 77 degrees all night--that's just ridiculous in this heat.

Why does it matter what it is in the East? In Chicago it's 9:18 PM and 76 degrees. In other words, pretty much perfect. If you're sweating sitting still in 76 degrees with no sun you should see a doctor. Seriously. That is not normal.

Yep. Down to low 70's where I am, actually. MassVt, are you even in the same city as the rest of us?

I think that Plzn and Chinaan need to take a course in reading comprehension.

Because I call myself "MassVt", I naturally live in Chicago.

So I guess if I lived in Boston, I should call myself "MinnWisc"...

You figure it out.

Awfully passionate opinions about Chicago weather for someone who doesn't even live here.

They have weather in places besides Chicago, too. Sometimes, it's quite similar...like Boston.

95 degrees is still hot, regardless of where it happens to be.

Perhaps someday I'll know what it's like to be bored enough to go onto internet message boards of cities far away from where I live to argue with locals about their weather. Do you do this with every major U.S. city, or are we just fortunate to have your presence here?

The weather in Boston is the same, it just arrives 1.5 to 2 days later. I grew up in Boston and my Mom starts out phone calls by asking me to look outside and tell her "what's our weather going to be tomorrow"

Just here, as I visit Chicago quite frequently.

I was posting in the Chicago forum long before you showed up.

FWIW, it was still 90 degrees at midnight last night. Not comfortable sleeping weather without AC...for anyone.
