Funny.... I started a Hawks thread at the start of the season (October 08) and noone wanted to talk hockey. But once theyre in the Playoffs and doing good, here come allllll the "fans".

I won't front - hockey trails in far 4th place in my ranking of favorite sports. However, they're the hometown team, and they're fun to watch - so I'll jump on this wagon. It's not as if I'd be rooting for another team anyways.

With fans like this, it could be that people were reluctant to be associated with it.

I have always been a fan. I used to listen to the Hawks on the radio (on WBBM-AM I believe) when I was a kid and teenager before we got cable. I used to stay up late every night to listen to the games.

Hawks games were never shown on free T.V. in the 80' and much of the 90's...They were on Sportschannel... (Road games only of course.)

I will admit that I have strayed away a bit (but there are plenty that have) with the rotten Wirtz making dumb personnel moves for at least a decade.
