You'd have thought the Ducks taking the Rude Wings to 7 games would have at least taken some of the wind out of their sails. But no, they're rolling right over the erstwhile well-rested Blackhawks just like they have all season.

*Sigh* Go Penguins!

Default Detroit very impressive yesterday..

.....at times Chicago had trouble even getting POSSESSION of the puck, let alone getting any shots on the net.

Detroit can basically play any game their opponents want to; if the Pens want to fly up and down the ice, then the Wings can win 6-5; if the Wild want to play a trap, then Detroit can prevail 2-1. Not an overly physical team (certain checks notwithstanding), but they can hit when they want to.

I know that it's not over, but it certainly looks like it. The Hawks had a great season, and the entire NHL is quite aware that they might have the best young nucleus of players in the league, and if they don't come back against the Wings, they just might be the pre-season favorite to win the Western Conference next year.

IMO, Zetterberg has to be the best two-way forward in the game; hard not to be impressed with his performance yesterday.

Two OT games against Chicago, too, dont forget. Games 1 and 4 were blowouts, 2 and 3 were VERY tight. The 6-1 loss to the Wings was pitiful. Shame that Havlat and Khabi are out, I dont dig Huet and Crawford.
