From the outset I would like to say that ALL CHRISTIANS SPEAK IN TONGUES.

This statement may seem extreme to some but please allow me to demontrate in scripture why this is so.

Luke 7:35

Your teaching is very divisive and you are extreme.
1COR 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1COR 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

1COR 14:5 "I would that you all spoke with tongues." But until then all are Baptized into Christ and in the Body by the Spirit. To encourage someone to ask for the gift of Tongues is one thing but to insult them by insinuation that they are not in Christ is another matter. One can not be in Christ but by the Baptism of Holy Spirit and they are wither they speak in tongues or not. Paul did not exclude them and neither should you.

Not as hurt as the spiritual maturity of those who believe in this superstitious nonsense instead of just following Christ's commands to "love God and each other."

Totally right on submariner thats gods word with out any private interpretaion. You must be working the word as a workman who needith not to be ashamed of you workmanship,by standing approved before god by rightly deviding the word of truth.11 timothy 2:15. About the matter of speaking in tongues at that meeting it was out of order. Nothing wrong with the tongues but a leader in a meeting to discuss god needs to call on people that have been fully instructed in the use of the worship manifestations. By course and other instructions in corinthans,and all things must be done deciently and in order.

Graya123 the manifestations are given to every man to use severally as he ( the man) wills. Some people just either dont believe to operate what they have in christ some simply havent been instructed on how the manifestations work or how to operarte them thats why their called babes.we all start out that way as babes in christ how far we go with what we have in christ is up to our own believing. That also why god gave gift ministries of which one is teaching. Teaching is the one thing all the ministries have in common they all have got to teach the word conserning the operation of what we have.
