Touché.

I did, thank you. It was a false pretense and a lack of love for monies and power. They wanted TO BE SERVED, instead TO serve. Why don't you take the time to actually read it.

I have ... And Christ not only rebuked them for their greed and hypocrisy, he also rebuked them for extortion, and he specifically referred to their false teachings as being the leaven of the pharisees which he warned them of. You simply refuse to accept the FACTS ...

Mat 23:25
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.

Mat 16:12
Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Now see if you can twist that and make it look like Jesus actually supported the doctrines of both Groups even thou he told them to be ware their doctrines.

Quote:
ex·tor·tion – noun

1. an act or instance of extorting.

2. Law . the crime of obtaining money or some other thing of value by the abuse of one's office or authority.
What doctrine could the Pharisees have taught that would make them guilty of extortion?

Hmmm ... Maybe everlasting imprisonment in hell?

That is a presupposition based on zero evidence....so why go there?

And what did the Pharisees and Sadducees teach?
The Pharisees taught eternal torment.
The Sadducees taught eternal annihilation.

Jesus taught age-during chastening.

BEWARE the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees!
You make some very geed points but the Pharisees and Sadducees taught these things to encourage works they profited from while living as the saw fit. The hypocricy was simply do as I say not as I do or you will be punished by God. Which is precicly what many preach today. Christ preached forgiveness and repentance and died for those reasons to ensure the believers eternal salvation.

Robin, Jesus said to beware of their teachings. I don't see how that fits in with what you are saying.
