well, the truth is that when christ scolded folks, it was usually the pharisees ( religous folks). When paul wrote the letter warning the churches, it was usually against church leaders who would lead the followers astray with strange teachings.
gays coming out is not a concern that i have. How about most TV preachers? they are spewing some heretical teachings, especially those horrible teachers who beg for folks to plant a seed. Are you even aware how bad that makes chritianity look? The sad thing is that most non tv pastors dont call them out. It is as if they silently agree with them. there is usually one preacher most do call out: joel osteen.
Why him? i think its because he tells folks they can have a better life. I would love to hear a preacher tell folks to grow in christ where they no longer would need to Why not call out TBN for the hellish channel it is, how about the folks on tv speaking about a seed, you can line them all up and most will be teaching .
They are the reason, if any, that the wrath of God will come upon the land. Just google any of those TV preachers and see how they lead folks astray. But paul warned the church that those teachers would come.
We as Americans just accept whatever they teach, because most agree with them.
Sow as seed? really, how much worse can it get.
we might not all agree on hell, trinity, tongues, rapture, etc.. but we can at least agree that sowing a seed is of the flesh and has no scriptural authority.
These folks on TV and radio should make your blood boil when you hear them, but most of us just accept it.
Here is some of what Jesus said:

"But WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES… FOR YOU SHUT UP THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AGAINST MEN…
…THEY BIND HEAVY BURDENS and GRIEVOUS to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but will not move them with ONE OF THEIR FINGERS
Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES… DEVOUR WIDOW’S HOUSES… WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES…WOE unto you, y You FOOLS AND BLIND…WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! You… have omitted… JUDGMENT, MERCY, and FAITH…WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES… within they are full of EXTORTION AND EXCESS.
You BLIND PHARISEES…WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! You are FULL OF DEAD MEN’S BONES, and ALL UNCLEANESS… and HYPOCRISY and INIQUITY…
WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES!… You SERPENTS, you GENERATION OF SNAKES…
That is the same he would say to the so called christian leaders of today.

Far to often, it seems that people focus entirely on what God is going to do .... as if to weigh the consequences before deciding to disobey. Whatever God's wrath means, it is not something people will want to test. This does not apply to those, who instead of rebellion, simply trust and obey God.

Rom 1:18-20 -- 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

Perhaps, the reason folks wonder if homosexuality or its consequences are part of God's judgment, is because the subsequent passages in Romans 1 (and elsewhere) are so clear regarding God's view of such behavior:

Rom 1:26-27 -- 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Like all sinful behavior, such is not God's 'judgment', but, clear evidence that many people (in the pattern of Adam and Eve), would choose even death ... over trusting and obeying God. (Of course, this isn't the prevailing PC view today, ... so maybe God will 'change').

When the people kick God out the vacuum is filled with evil.. we are reaping what the people sowed. We will have financial calamity in time and this world will have major wars , famines and trouble like never before. Good is bad and bad is good..

America is becoming Sodom and Gomorrah and the people don't even know they support this transition , and it is coming with the next generation.

The Pharisees were not Christians.. they rejected Christ and his message. They were sinners as well.

Jesus tells us to plant seeds, and the seeds are the Word of God..

Matt 13:3-23; Mk 4:2-20; Lk 8:4-15Luke 8:4-15 When a great multitude came together, and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable."The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed,
some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot,

and the birds of the sky devoured it. other seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away,

because it had no moisture. Other fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it, and choked it.
Other fell into the good ground, and grew, and brought forth fruit one hundred times."

As he said these things, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
Then his disciples asked him, "What does this parable mean?"
He said, "To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables; that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Those along the road are those who hear, then the devil comes,

and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy

but these have no root, who believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation. That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard,

and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches,
and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart,

having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience. (web)

and yet things did not change. these new "christians" also reject christ. That is why the continue to create new things. You hear them all the time " God is doing a new thing". As if what Christ did was not enough.

I very much agree little elmer. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Sin and the wrath of God are spoken of in abundance on this forum for sure. Rivers of living water? and sin and wrath is our conversation, something seriously wrong with that picture.

To many John the Baptist wannabes.

There is also something seriously wrong with people judging those who speak about the things Jesus talked about.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks?

Well, I suppose that could be why Jesus talked about it so much:

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats . . . And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

"Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire . . ."

Oh, there's a VERY simple explanation for that: "You are doomed to hell! You have false beliefs. You are wrong. That's not what the Bible says! You aren't a true Christian! You heathen! READ YOUR BIBLE OR PARISH!!"

That goes away and the judgement goes waaaaaay down. It's not exactly easy to be charitable towards a person who is telling someone else they are going to burn forever in a lake of fire.

There are a LOT of God wanna-bees on this forum.
