If you've ever seen the movie where Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz are going on the vacation and she is holding the map up-side-down while trying to give directions is just a hoot watch when one realizes there is probably more truth in that one cares to admit.
Yeah on many levels, lol. Hmm, I wonder if there are any actual cults that literally read the bible upsidedown ...that would actually be as funny as it would be sad.
No one is righteous in and of themselves but Christ changes people. All our goodness comes from God and there is some good in everyone who comes into the world but especially in those who partake of Christ.
1JN 3:7 "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous."
How can it be anything other than losing our way. When Jesus Jesus said I am the way, he wasnt saying I am the only way, he was saying who I am is who you are, what I have with the Father you have too, and this is what you strayed from, forgotten you had and why you are lost.

Even when he recognized his own fallen condition in the pigpens of the 'far country' ... he was still lost. He was saved only when he came to his senses and remembered who his Father was and acted on that knowledge. We knew our Father too and then forgot He was our Father, we are the prodigal son, who then came to our senses(awake to who we are) and returned to Him.

JGHorton:
As I recall from past posts (and from what you seem to be saying here), you categorically discount any scripture that says we 'become' Sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus' ... or where there is anycondition whatsoever attached to 'Sonship' and eternal life (??)
Maybe so, but is it the truth? If our sin does NOT separate us from a holy God, then Jesus died for nothing.
No it doesn't. Jesus' death was to show the world that God is for it not against in spite of its sin, and due to faith in this wonderful truth, man is reconciled back to God and is no longer alenated in his mind from God.
Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us THIS ^^^message of reconciliation

Reconcilliation can occur because of Christ's redemptive work, no?
There is no one that is "good" on their own accord.
Ecc 7:20 "Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins."
Rom 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
And these are appropriate scripture for the self proclaimed "saved" and "blessed" also.
