If you cant trust the bible, that is a huge hole in the entire religion.
You can trust the bible to be the bible. Like the apple, if you take the apple from the serpent and say "thanks, I love apples, they help clean my teeth after a good meal," there is no sin. If you take that apple as the meal, your health will suffer.

Not really. the book, (bible, Quran, NWT,Mormon, etc) are great historical pieces that can be guides to understanding. It is our relationship with "God" (or whatever name we use) that makes up our connection . Religion is an institution that oppresses and controls. We need to build on a relationship that allows us to dialog with God and provide answers to all the really tough questions they say we are not supposed to ask.
I have always found that when I ask questions, and the answer coming from the church is JUST BELIEVE, FEEL THE WARM FUZZY? DO YOU NOT HAVE FAITH? that generally means THEY DO NOT KNOW or they FEAR THE REAL ANSWERS.
FAITH is depended on UNDERSTANDING and understanding is dependent on ANSWERS.
So as one reads the book, we should always do so with QUESTIONS in mind and search for answers within the book that support the overall THEME of what God has told us...
You posted this reply one minute after I posted the videos. You did not listen to either of them. I posted the videos for anyone who is serious about the issue of the reliability of the New Testament manuscripts. Those of you who aren't serious, I'll not waste my time or breath on you.

No it is not. The failure to TEST the Spirit of what is in the Bible against God's Spirit is what corrupts your understanding of Jesus and God.

The bible damn near says "be almost perfect or spend eternity in a lake of fire". It goes against everything God is said to be and makes no sense. It was tampered by men to control the masses

Only when the verses are NOT TESTED against the Spirit of agape love. We do not need to be perfect because Christ IS. We just need to attain sanctification under His perfect agape love (Grace) by trying to love God and each other every day and repenting when we don't. That is how we attain the cover of His perfection for our imperfections.
