Some folk may quote Romans 1 but ignore that. And the levitical laws are of no consequence as that was for the Jews.

I do not condone it but one needs to be a realist and look deeper at the potential roots.

Some will say God hates sin but loves the sinner but that IMO will not help either.

It is natural for youngsters to have homosexual relationships like mutual masturbation and most outgrow it, some not. Most Christians will not admit that they once experimented or masturbated, not something you broadcast to the world.

This has existed forever, there are enough biblical accounts to attest to this. You will find the homo bashers usually have a diverted sense of judgement. We are not to judge, but to love.

If you love him unconditionally as a brother, who know what that love may do. He is your brother.

Love covers a multitude of sins. The law judges and the law is of the flesh.

Most folk who condemn homosexuality obsessively will have a change of heart when it happens to one of their own. If puny man can still love his offspring when they go this way, even though it may pain them, how much more will a Heavenly Father love His creation?

See when you draw up a sin list, where do you stop? Who's standards is it based on? The fact is man needs a balance of 1 sin = 1 atonement.

Most will say Jesus died for all the sins of the world except the sins they consider unforgivable. God does not have a sin list.

God said "Do not commit adultery", Jesus showed us we can do that in our hearts. The levites added to and qualified it to man's standards, it is weird that adultery in the form of incest, carried not death penalty, something we are naturally endowed with (nearly all) not to desire sexual relationships with siblings or sons and daughters.

Also kind of strange that the folk who believe in a literal flood, the offspring of the 3 couples would have had to engage in incest to procreate further or at least do it with 1st cousins and that these three couples would account for all the varieties of races in existence today, followed by objections to inter-racial relations, specifically between dark skinned folk and Caucasians

Far off topic now but just to show that some folk have a bias of taughtology and have not thought everything through.

If I had to judge your brother, then I have to judge myself too. That is what Jesus taught.

Jesus said, "You judge after the flesh, I judge no one" (John 8:15), I guess that includes folk with a different sexual persuasion.

Blessings

Is fornication a sin? Is sensualism a sin?
Yes, and yes..

Do we hate sinners. No, we are one.

Do we teach our children, that its all good.
No, thats stupid.

Do we seek to overcome sin. Yes. It is why we seek.

Can we overcome all unrighteousness through asking, seeking, and knocking.
yes.

godspeed,

freedom

If you believe the Bible, God's Word:

Romans 1 (read the whole chapter)
I Corinthians 6 (read the whole chapter)

If you don't believe the Bible, then continue to seek a myriad of opinions.

Where do we see marriage with Isaac and his first wife? They went into his mothers bedroom and he loved her. I can't recall reading of any nuptials. The marriage ceremony we have today was not developed in the time of Christ, although there were marriage ceremonies (aka, Cana in Galilee). It was not uncommon in this country that the itinerant minister to neighborhoods would marry people AND baptise their first-born during the same visit to a person's house. Does any one embrace purity and innocence anymore? Not naivete, but innocence - the ability to know what stinking, filthy, distorting, perverting, alluring, seductive sin is, and to embrace righteousness?

We have many discriminative lenses by which we identify sin. We are offended/ignorant of Levitical law, all of which was intended to indicate humanity's willful, sinful ways, and that a new covenant had to be rung in. The blood of lambs and other sacrifices were no longer sufficient. And holy cow (apologies to the Hindus), they were taking up a lot of space on the altar.

Having made this point, do you think the character or nature of humanity changed suddenly with the incarnation of G-d in Christ? We are still involved in global sin, corporate sin, and individual sin. We are all awaiting a new heaven and a new earth. When we can knock the two-by-four out of our own eyes, we might be able see clearly to judge others. When we begin determining who should come through the doors of the church to faith in G-d, we ourselves are standing in G-d's place.

When we realize the price of our redemption, we should become humbled, and consider no one beyond salvation as long as they have the breath of life in them. And this goes for Christian brothers and sisters as well, who say, 'we are sinless.' Or some other phrase close to that nonsense.

Given the price that was put on my head, that Christ died for me, it is a humbling experience to live in G-d's presence. I would not put up any barriers for anyone to know Christ. Why would anyone want to limit their relationship to a loving G-d, to the exclusion of others? Isn't that jealousy? We have taken a 5-6 year old's perspective on G-d: 'G-d don't want to be with you, look at the sin you're wearing.'

The Pharasaic trash that passes for holiness today is shameful. 'Strain out a gnat and swallow a camel' - do you think that was really written for OT slaves? This contempt has made us religious Nazis on the one topic in America that is verboten in our culture altogether: sexuality. Reconsider people, you are putting up a stumbling block between G-d's love and the unsaved, you are creating a hurdle that wasn't there when Christ preached what our sacramental journey of faith should be, and let G-d soften your hearts. This is not about homosexuality, it becomes contempt for salvation of the unsaved.

There appears to be standards of behavior in the new testament as well.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
