God doesn't need saving. It is humanity that needs saving. Jesus made it clear that there will be a minority that will follow the narrow path and enter into salvation. However, a large majority will perish.
Why do you downplay other people's commitment as 'lip service'? You have no idea who they are, or how deep their commitment is.

Why are younger folks staying away in DROVES from ALL organized religions? So many people are realizing religion has become an institution of FEAR and OPPRESSION with their "either for us or against us" mindset. People are finally realizing that God is not in that tiny box and God is MORE than theology, dogma and ritualistic acts that are outdated and NEVER really were relevant to humanity.
People are finally realizing God is no longer an ALL or NOTHING proposition and that LOVING God is not contingent on being perfect, oppressing others or denying people opportunity because they do not attend the "right" church or use the OFFICIAL version of the bible (KJV).
People are finally realizing the WORDS of CHRIST are more important than the WORDS of men.
Even today, evangelical fundies are attacking women who want to be more than a wife/mother/servant to a male dominated world.
The fundies are attacking those who want to have EQUALITY in the way they live and LOVE.
Fundies are attacking those who follow the two greatest commandments and reject the other 613 as being irrelevant.
Fundies are attacking those who break bread with their Muslim neighbors.
Fundies are attacking those who celebrate Maha Shivaratri with their Hindu neighbors
Fundies are attacking those who embrace the least of us.
Fundies are attacking those who demand universal health care
Fundies are attacking those who stand to save the children from violence in our communities.
Fundies are attacking those who dare to question allegiance to Israel
Fundies are attacking those who focus on the "sinner" and and ignore the sin
Fundies are trapped within the LAW and FEAR a LOVING God who is MERCIFUL.

Yes, I know many people who you would call hateful etc for not agreeing with your views, but who are deeply committed to serving.
The church (Gods people) is not dying. It is growing like a wildfire across the globe.
People like you have had some success in US to misrepresent the Christian faith and paint Gods people as hateful creatures, and that has contributed to some youth staying away, but in other places Christianity is spreading.

You have the tense wrong, JJ . . . Humanity NEEDED saving, but Christ took care of that little detail! Jesus made it clear that God is not counting our sins against us and that we are to love God and each other every day and repent when we don't, PERIOD. All your judging and discriminating against those who you think are sinning is not only unnecessary, it is against what God wants from us. Get a clue.
