Everything that was passed down by word of mouth ws interpreted by the existing mindset at the time. That is why I gave an example. If you agree with the example in bold then you have the same mindset that they had at the time of Christ. If not, you cannot trust the Spirit of their interpretations about the motives and desires of God or Jesus. That is why we are to test the Spirit of everything.
